Count your blessings, not your problems. . . That’s what we do at Ankole Living. In East Africa, we find discarded Ankole horns and pay for them at the stockyards before up-cycling each one - each horn we consider a blessing and honor to work with. These things have a second life representing something that is beautiful emerging. Today we want to reflect upon our present blessings, one of which is Robert Sembuya.
Robert Sembuya is the President and CEO of Ankole Living Uganda Ltd. There is no man more kind, faithful, strong and humble! We hired Robert in 2007 as one of our very first EcoNation Africa Ltd employees in Kampala, Uganda. He was always reliable and honest. We depended on him and his quiet strength. Today, he runs both EcoNation and Ankole Living - making sales, managing crews, overseeing product design and manufacturing, finances, etc. Life is filled with misfortunes - ie. being robbed, equipment malfunctions, loosing electricity regularly, innocent workers being thrown in jail etc… It is truly amazing how difficult it is to be a small business owner in a developing country, BUT Robert keeps persevering and it’s because of his faith in Christ.
C.S. Lewis wrote, “When we lose one blessing, another is often most unexpectedly given in its place.” Sometimes we feel like we are losing, but in fact when we continue we find we are gaining. Ankole Living is mostly in business because of Robert’s great attitude, work ethic, and his contagious gratitude! When something bad happens, he doesn’t dwell on it, he keeps moving forward with a grateful heart.
Today, we express our love and gratefulness for Robert Sembuya! He is taking action towards his dreams, living out his life counting his blessings, and it is making a difference in many people's lives.
May you embrace your present blessings today too..
